‘With My Mind’ is the latest track to be released by London lo-fi dreamy-grunge quartet Lazy Day, following their now sold-out Record Store Day 2015 split 7” single with Tuff Love (‘Portait’ ‘Groucho’), and last year’s 7” single ‘Disappear’ / ‘All The Time’.  It will be released as a PostMap postcard single on May 5, 2017, and comes with an acoustic version as an exclusive bonus.  The track is available to stream and share now, after premiering via GoldFlakePaint who called it "another bewitching and formidable slice of guitar-pop". Lazy Day will play a special headline show at the Servant Jazz Quarters in London on Tuesday, May 9.

Lazy Day began life in 2014 as the bedroom solo project of Tilly Scantlebury. Self-recording her tracks on Garageband and making them available to hear via SoundCloud, she quickly gained extensive attention and praise from many respected music websites and blogs. Since expanding to a four-piece band featuring drummer Beni Evans, bassist Jonny Coddington and guitarist Liam Hoflay, they’ve gone on to be twice longlisted for Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition, play festivals including LeeFest: The NeverlandSWN Festival and the Beacons Festival and receive radio play from Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music.

Here's Tilly's take on the track ...

“It’s funny because ‘With My Mind’ has been in the world for three years, but I’m even more excited about it now than I was back then. ‘With My Mind’ felt like a turning point, both in the way that I wrote and recorded music, and in my personal life too. I think that’s why the song has stayed really important to me, because it signifies how Lazy Day started, and now what it’s become. It’s shown me that feeling sad and grim can change into feeling strong.”

‘With My Mind’ was recorded by Lazy Day’s own Jonny Coddington with his company Bottle Rocket Recording at The Crows’ Nest Studios. It was mixed by Adrian Hall (Anna Calvi/Goldfrapp) at Clever Pup Studios and mastered by Andy ‘Hippy’ Baldwin at Metropolis. Artwork and press shot by Eleanor Crewes.
