Glasgow-based Irish singer-songwriter Claire McKay, AKA Martha Ffion released her debut single ‘No Applause’ on Lost Map Records in 2015. Her critically acclaimed 2018 debut album Sunday Best, released via Welsh independent label Turnstile Records, was nominated for the Scottish Album of the Year Award. She returned to Lost Map Records in 2019 for the release of the stand-alone single ‘Kennedy Hair’, and 2020 sees the release of her sophomore LP, Nights To Forget.

‘After the Fact’ is the first cut from the forthcoming album, available to stream and share via digital platforms from 7th May 2020, and also available as a postcard single as part of Lost Map’s PostMap Club subscription service. An harmonic sunshine pop song with a disquieting undertow, juxtaposing lilting vocals with dissonant stabs of off-kilter guitar, ‘After the Fact’ was written a couple of summers ago, at a time when Claire was, she says, “questioning things I could have done differently in the wake of a difficult event”.

Nights to Forget has been supported by the Momentum Music Fund. Momentum is managed by the PRS Foundation, with support from PPL, Creative Scotland, the Arts Council of Wales, the Welsh Government, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Invest NI and Spotify.
