In This Body Lives is the breathtaking debut album by Dartmoor-raised, London-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dominie Hooper. A rich and cathartic collection of songs about memory, metamorphosis and the search for self, the album is released on October 31st, 2025 – the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, marking the end of summer and the beginning of darker days.

Steeped in the wild landscapes of her upbringing and shaped by years of collaboration as a session and theatre musician (with the likes of Alabaster DePlume, Yola and Tom Odell), Dominie’s songs come alive with electric guitar, growling cello, layered voices and raw emotion. Working with legendary producer Ben Hillier (Blur, Depeche Mode, Nadine Shah), she’s created a sound that’s intimate yet expansive, rooted in ritual and riot, quietness and chaos.

Highlights include the fuzzed-out folk-rock of Hurricane – a song of teenage bonds and rural unrest – the brooding cello-and-chorus anthem Animal, and Join Me To This Earth, a stunning choral finale recorded in a cavernous barn. Throughout, a core band of trusted musicians supports Dominie’s powerful voice and vision, offering up a sound as rugged and elemental as Dartmoor itself.

Dominie describes In This Body Lives as “an origin story – pictures I hope people will find themselves inside.” A bold and brilliant debut, it’s a record to hold close and return to often.

Limited edition 12” vinyl available now to pre-order – includes lyric insert and digital download. Ships late October 2025.
