Acolyte are an Edinburgh-based poetic-psychedelic ensemble formed in 2018, led by award-winning poet and performer Iona Lee alongside Ruairidh Morrison (looped bass), Gloria Black (synths and vocals) and Daniel Hill (percussion).

Emerging from the city’s cross-disciplinary gig and performance art scene, they create immersive, genre-blurring work that fuses spoken word, hypnotic loops and influences spanning jazz, trip-hop and prog. Their debut EP The Blue Dark captures this evolving sound — a collaborative, atmospheric body of work that channels poetic storytelling, experimental production and a shared fascination with the strange, the cosmic and the unknown.
