Oh you greedy sods you. Since they went onsale a few weeks ago you've been snapping up tickets to our Howlin' Fringe! mini-festival at Penicuik Town Hall on Sat Aug 8 faster than we could say "wait, we've accidentally set the postage rate too low!", Early-Birds have long since flown out the door. There are another few advance tickets at £15 remaining, after that it's £18 full-price briefs all the way. Shop, dear friends - shop like the wind!

As you've probably been able to deduce from the posters and suchlike, this one's an all-dayer with a hairy theme. To wit: in the build up to the event, we'd like you to share photographs of some of your most howlin' hairdos - from the explosive bangs your sadistic mother styled for you for a school photograph as a gap-toothed sprog, to that ill-advised severe combover you sported when you were going through your teeny emo phase. Haircut catastrophes, dodgy doos, follical misfires, barber-based balls-ups - we'll take 'em all!

We'll share as many of these images as we can on our social media channels (see Instagram for some inspiration). The best (worst) cuts we receive will be magically transformed by our design guru David Galletly into cartoons/GIFs à la the above image, for usage on posters and promotional materials for the Howlin' Fringe! (of which winners will receive complimentary copies, along with some bonus Lost Map goodies). Whether you're coming to the event or not, this is your chance to have your howlin' fringe enshrined in Lost Map history forevermore. Get involved.

Since launching this competition in our most recent WayPoints newsletter, we've already had some submissions. Lost Map fan John McTague sent in a few pics of the bowfin' barnet he sported as a confused teenager ... and just look at the transformation ...
