GO FORWARD IN THE COURAGE OF YOUR LOVE
WITH ALABASTER DEPLUME
WATCH AND SHARE THE VIDEO FOR 'I'M GOOD AT NOT CRYING'
BUY 'GOLD' ON LIMITED EDITION "OBSIDIAN VORTEX" VINYL
Not satisfied with merely being good at music and the widespread dissemination of feelgood vibes , Alabaster dePlume in his latest single sings about how good he is at not crying. We're impressed tbh because we're sh*te at not crying – we even cried once during the generally unfavourably reviewed Liam Neeson revenge action-thriller sequel Taken III (2014). But Alabaster AKA Gus isn't bragging, no. He's just not that kind of guy. And moreover, the mellow and affecting 'I'm Good At Not Crying' – and especially its poetic video in which our hero dresses in drag and sings to the setting sun surrounded by a choir of men with the voices of angels – is in fact a satirical skewering of rigid masculine archetypes and the fading British Empire. Which, now that we think about it, is really quite beautiful and please excuse us if we don't just have another lil' cry

'I'm Good At Not Crying' is the latest single taken from Gus's critically-acclaimed brand new double album GOLD ("a balm of spoken word and spiritual jazz" 8.4/10 – Pitchfork), which is out now via Chicago's International Anthem records in cooperation with yer old pals Lost Map. It can be purchased exclusively from us in the UK on limited-edition swirly green "obsidian vortex" AKA "bong rip" vinyl for just £32. Hear us chatting all about the new album with Gus in the new episode of the Lost Map Podcast. Alabaster dePlume is disseminating his feelgood vibes all over Europe from Brighton to Bulgaria this spring and summer – see the massive long list of tour dates below. It all starts at the Village Underground in London on Sunday, May 1 with the official album launch for GOLD (tickets on sale here). We'll be there, doing a sh*te job of not crying, as only proud parents should.

NEW PICTISH TRAIL TOUR DATES
STREAM AND BUY 'ISLAND FAMILY'
BUY TICKETS FOR ALL OF PICTISH TRAIL'S UPCOMING SHOWS
Despite two members of his band in quick succession coming down with the world famous cor-OH-NO! virus – more on which in a bit, sadly – Pictish Trail valiantly and inventively ploughed on with his two-years-delayed UK tour, ensuring that the people of these fair isles could at long last enjoy the songs of his latest albums Island Family (2022) and Thumb World (2020), not to mention get a good look at his comically trousered ar*e. No sooner have Johnny and his trousers/ar*e finally made it home to Eigg for a long detox and a thorough 90° machine wash, than he's already announced another round of tour dates.

The Scottish Government sponsored Scotland On Tour™ tour will see Pictish help bring live music to venues outside the regular gigging circuit everywhere from Oban to Forres and Galashiels – see the full list of dates below (tickets on sale here). If you live in Scotland and are currently reading this wondering "hey wait why is my my tax money being spent so the people of e.g Arisaig, Bathgate and New Galloway can watch Pictish Trail wave his ar*e?" then to you we say this: "cultural value, pal". But if you're still not satsifed then maybe try writing to your local MP?
