"WHAT'S IT LIKE TO HAVE A GOOD TIME"

FEATURING: PICTISH TRAIL, SUSAN BEAR, SARA WOLFF, FLO LINES, AFTERLANDS + MORE
PICTISH TRAIL LIVE SESSION, LIVE SHOWS + NEW MERCH ON SALE NOW
JOIN THE POSTMAP CLUB TO WATCH AN EVENING WITH PICTISH TRAIL LIVE @ LEITH CRICKET CLUB
BUY TICKETS FOR UPCOMING PICTISH TRAIL TOUR DATES
DON'T BE A MUG, BUY A PICTISH TRAIL MUG
From Aviemore to Oxford, Stroud and the bright lights of Nantwich, Pictish Trail will be moving among us this summer and autumn. Not in a Jesus type way – although he does look a little bit like Jesus, if Jesus really let himself go – but on a live music tour. Or rather on a series of small live music tours of different sorts – some solo, some with friends – which, put together, make for a much larger (music) tour. Ladies and gentlemen: Pictish Trail, on tour. Tickets on sale now.

But what if you aren't able to make it to a Pictish Trail show? What if you live somewhere really far away like "Butt Green", "Shavington" or "Cockshades Farm"? (All of which are close to Nantwich, yet not close enough). What if you don't have any money to buy a ticket, or what if you simply hate being among other humans and prefer to stay at home with the blinds down, dressed in a nice soft, loose garment like a caftan, eating a big bag of Hot Bombay Mix and catching up on more exciting episodes of Deadliest Catch?

We have a solution to all of the above problems and more, which is letting the Pictish Trail show come to you in the form of An Evening With Pictish Trail: Live At Leith Cricket Club. Available to watch now exclusively via Lost Map's PostMap Club subscription service, this is a full Pictish solo set filmed live in concert in an intimate venue in Edinburgh in March, the first show in a sort-of-residency Johnny is doing at Leith Cricket Club throughout the year. Enjoy all the great songs, funny banter, friendly atmosphere and interesting odours of the Pictish Trail show, in the comfort of your own home. Subscribe now to watch.

In yet more Pictish news, he's just put a load of cool new v. limited-edition merch on his web shop, including mugs and coasters. The perfect accessory combo for anyone who wants to enjoy a nice steaming hot cup of freshly microwaved beer with their Pictish Trail home entertainment experience.

NEW SUSAN BEAR ALBUM COMING SOON
The new Susan Bear album is coming so soon – 16 days to be precise – that we can practically taste it. It tastes exactly like a Greggs Cheese & Onion Bake™. Or does it just taste like that because we ate a Greggs Cheese & Onion Bake™ for lunch and absolutely everything tastes like Greggs Cheese & Onion Bake™ for several days after you've eaten a Greggs Cheese & Onion Bake™? Who can be sure. Either way: tastes so good.

But about Susan Bear's new album which, like we say, is out in 16 days AKA June 28. Available to pre-order now on 12" vinyl and CD, it's called Algorithmic Mood Music. Not to be confused with Algorithmic Food Music, which is an album we just composed all about Greggs Cheese & Onion Bakes™ and their fiendish aftertaste, Algorithmic Mood Music was made wholly by Suse alone in her Glasgow bedroom studio, just like all the Suse solo classics are. It's a bit of a departure from her previous two solo albums, insofar as it delves a bit deeper into her electronic side – case in point being Suse's absolutely donking new single 'Get By', which you can stream and share now. But the same melancholic, woozy, tape-y, band-y vibes we all know and all love are still in there, just in ways you might not always expect.

Suse will be celebrating the release of Algorithmic Mood Music on July 5 by playing live at a special edition of the clubnight Fantastic Man at Nice'n'Sleazy in Glasgow, the absolutely 10/10 no notes poster for which you can see above. Tickets on sale now.

JUNE POSTMAP CLUB
FEAT. SARA WOLFF
JOIN OUR CLUB
STREAM AND SHARE 'IS IT TRUE'
The wonders of the PostMap Club allows us to welcome yet another new artist to Lost Map this month, this one all the way from Norway via Liverpool. Sara Wolff is a storyteller weaving together elements of indie-folk, prog rock and art-pop with analogue warmth. Recorded in Margate with Mercury Prize winning wonk-folk musician and producer Mike Lindsay, best known from his acclaimed bands Tunng and LUMP with Laura Marling, Sara's new single is the softly psychedelic and spellbindingly melodic ‘Is It True’. It's a song exploring creativity and community in a challenging time, and it features a 30-second recording of rain. Admittedly that sounds rubbish on paper but trust us: it really works.

Drawing comparisons to artists including Tune-Yards, Cate Le Bon and Jenny Hval, Sara has released a string of music since 2018, including the EPs When You Left The Room (self-release, 2021) and Magic Hour (Small Matter Records, 2023). Her songs have received support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Radio 6 Music, Apple Music, Amazing Radio and Worldwide FM. She has shared stages with names including Helado Negro, Peter Broderick, This Is The Kit and Fenne Lily. Sara is playing live around the UK in coming months – see below for a list of dates – and we'll be releasing more new music by her soon.
Also included in this month's PostMap Club:

Pictish Trail: An Evening With Pictish Trail
A full solo show filmed at Leith Cricket Club in March 2024, in the first of a seasonal residency at the venue.

Susan Bear: Get By
A balearic, sun-kissed slice of tropical pop with chopped-up vocals and an emotional, rising chord progression, taken from Suse's forthcoming album Algorithmic Mood Music.
